I have a squarish shaped jawline and I want to know if it is possible to create a more v shaped jaw? thank you!

V line is one of the most common jaw and chin sharpening surgeries in Korea. We offer separate V line techniques for female (more barbie-like, pointy) and for male (more masculine, but softly contoured) or dramatic as well, if the patient requires. 
From your picture I can say that V line will be possible, and you squarish jawline can be reshaped through diagonal osteotomy that is used to cut the mandibular angle and cortical bone to make jaw thinner creating e a slender V-line. For mandibular angle, the angular is cut out part under ear , whereas the cortical bone is cut diagonally, avoiding the nerve path.

Reshaping the jawline from the frontal view, also known as v line surgery, involves reducing the lateral width of the mandibular body and ramus as well as tapering the chin with a t-shaped osteotomy. In men who undergo this procedure it is critical to determine what the aesthetic expectations are from the side view as well. Men may want a slimmer jawline from the front view but may not want the jaw angles amputated off as in traditional v line surgery which creases a very high angle look. A 3D CT scan is very useful in planning this type of surgery as well as computer imaging of the type of jawline change you want from three different views.

Thank you for your question.There is surgery called V-line surgery that makes a square jaw into a more tapered and "heart shaped face"  This usually involves removing the angle of the mandible to which softens the back part of the jaw.  Then I alter the chin, either by bringing it forward, down or narrowing the edges to make it more pointed and slim.  The combination of these two steps create a powerful change in the face. There are not many doctors who do this in the US, but we do exist!Best of luckDr Rodman
