How do butt implants feel - for me and others? How long until they become comfortable?

When buttock implants are placed under (or within) the gluteus muscles, like breast implants placed under the pectoralis muscle, most patients find their body kind of integrates and accepts the implants as "self" by around 5-6 months post-op - meaning it feels like a normal extension of your body.  Also similar to breast implants when proportionally sized, buttock implants too are seldom noticed by others, even in close encounters. So the key is proper technique and proper implant selection to yield the most natural looking and feeling outcomes.Once the implants are place and healed for about 6 weeks, I personally lift all restrictions from patients. Glad to help.

Dear Amber,    Congratulation on you decision to have butt implants because fat injection will last on average,  6 - 12 months, which is waste of time and money. Butt implants like breast implants take time to heal  and settle. It takes 3 -4 months for the healing process to take place . You have to be committed to the healing process in order to have a good result and reduce complications. Not all results are the same , so, you have to do your due diligence. Check the before and after pictures to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and you like them. It will be also very helpful for you, based on your questions, to meet butt implants patients , feel the results and ask about their experience . In busy surgery centers who do lots of butt implants surgery, that can be easily arranged. Another option is to check the reviews on 'realself' and communicate with the review writers,  asking them relevant questions. In my opinion, based on over 12 years of doing butt implants surgery on hundreds of patients, the most attractive and natural looking butt implants results are acheived in the subfascial plane , using oval round or oval bubble butt implants made of very soft silicone implants and placed through a single incision in the inter gluteal fold.Always, consults with board certified plastic surgeons who perform their surgery in an  accredited surgery center for your safety..                  Best of luck,                                        Dr Widder                                            

I prefer fat injection for just the reason you describe.  Implants will be palpable to some extent depending upon your soft tissue coverage.
