I had abdominal smartlipo on my hips, upper and lower abs about 3 weeks ago. I wear compression garments at night but not during the day. There is a large lump on my stomache from where my pant line is. How can I get rid of this? I'm worried it will stay like this. I've been wearing loose fitting clothing around the area that I had done but I'm still really lumpy and hard in a lot of areas. I just had my inner thighs done 4 days ago and any tips on that would be helpful as well! The swelling is insane!!
Answer: Sonobello Lipo- 3 weeks out, lumpy stomach. How can I get rid of this? Thank you for the question, but without photos, BMI and technique ( they use mainly the PAL system with some laser treatment at the end of the procedure) it is difficult to be more specific. I'm not sure what your follow up or instructions are from Sonobello, but I have my patients wear their compression garments 24/7 (except when taking a shower) for the first 2-3 weeks. After that, I have them take it off at night, and wear it during the day for another 2-3 weeks. No wonder that your "swelling is insane!" You might also want to consider massage for the treated areas. Talk to your surgeon about your concerns. Good luck with your healing.

Answer: Post Liposuction Irregularities, Swelling -- Try Massage, Velashape or Venus Legacy With Your Compression It takes weeks to see the results of liposuction and swelling can last for months. Massage, RF treatments, Venus Legacy and hyperbaric oxygen will drastically reduce swelling. In my practice, I have patients use double compression (foam underneath and full body suit on top), 24/7 for 3-4 weeks and then nightly for another 3-4 weeks. Protocol and post-operative care will vary, I suggest speaking with the performing surgeon. You may need a hi definition revision procedure. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Sonobello Lipo- 3 weeks out, lumpy stomach. How can I get rid of this? Thank you for the question. It's difficult to say exactly what was done during your procedure. However, whenever there's a question it's a good idea to speak with your surgeon about your concerns. They will be able to answer specific questions that you may have and may want to have you come back into the office for an examination. In general, I have my patients wear a compression garment for the first 2-3 weeks after surgery. This is worn at all times, except to shower. At the three-week mark, my patients wear a more comfortable garment, such as Spanx. This garment provides light compression, and is more comfortable. Overall, compression is used for the first six weeks after surgery. It's important to understand that swelling after liposuction lasts for several months, and the final results are not seen for 6-9 months.Good luck with the process and congratulations on your recent procedure.

Answer: Sonobello Lipo- 3 weeks out, lumpy stomach. How can I get rid of this? Thank you for the questions. Unfortunately, without more information, an exam, or pictures, it is impossible to give you specific advice. It will often take weeks to months for your final result to be revealed. Short of waiting, my best advice would be to follow your PS's instructions and discuss your concerns with him or her.Hope this helps!
