When do infections most commonly develop after cheek implants?

Question

I got cheek implants 10 days ago and there seems to be no signs of infection so far. Wondering how long an infection typically takes to develop? Also - there was a tiny hard white bump (not painful) by one of the incision cites. Looked like a white head. Seemed to be there almost immediately after the surgery (within a few days but can't be sure). It's shrinking and almost gone. Is this something I need to be concerned about? HelloThough risks are rare in cheek implants complications can happen. They may include adverse reaction to anesthesia and this is due to reaction caused by substances like tobacco, antidepressants etc., infection and misplacement of implants.

Infections are rare and are usually seen in the first week or two after surgery. You may have swelling, which can take several weeks to resolve. The bump sounds like it is healing, but I recommend following up with your Doctor, if you're concerned. I hope this helps.

Dear LasVegas123456789,in most cases infection occurs within the first few weeks after the surgery. The most common signs of infection are redness, pain, fever. Based on your description, it doesn't sound like you have problems with an infection. If you have any concerns, I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

It's very rare to have an infection after a cheek implant procedure. If they were to occur, it would be within the first week after the procedure.

Infections do not commonly occur after cheek implant placement; it is very rare but signs and symptoms would be seen within the first 2 weeks. Contact your surgeon if you are concerned.

Infections following cheek implant surgery are very uncommon but if an infection occurs, it does so within the first two to four weeks but most commonly earlier during that period.  The presence of an infection will be indicated by swelling, pain and sometimes redness over the implant.  The small bump at the incision site is of no concern.
