How come Accutane is so expensive?

I am trying to fill a 40 mg. 30 quantity prescription for my teen sons. The prices for this are amazingly high. If I have monthly appts with our dermatologist and do the regular lab work, can I buy the medicine online. The prescriptions are more than half what I can get them for at my local pharmacies

Yes, unfortunately Accutane can be very expensive.  Talk to your dermatologist to see if they know of specialty pharmacies in your area that can get it for you at the best price.

You can't buy Accutane online but your derm office should be able to direct you to two different pharmacies that work with branded names of isotretinoin that can cost much less than regular pharmacies. Call your derm office and ask them to help you. Your derm office has to send the prescriptions to these pharmacies (which are regular, licensed US pharmacies) and then they ship the medication to you. But you cannot go through the pharmacies without help from your son's derm. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and
