Rhinoplasty 1 month post-op and my nose looks the same or worse than before. Should I be worried? (Photos)

Dear enicholeg20Swelling in different parts of the nose will settle at different rates. The bony vault, upper third settles first, then the mid vault, and finally the tip. In your pics, it appears that your nose had a deviation, your surgeon seems to have removed a hump and raised your tip. It appears that your deviation MIGHT still be there but it's very early. I suspect your tip will shrink by 20 to 25 % from now and you will see significant improvements in every aspect. The deviation might persist but it's too early to tell. Be patient and maintain open communication with your surgeon, he (or she) is on your side. 

Your nasal tip may retain swelling for up to a year after rhinoplasty. If your surgeon performed tip work, it may take more time for swelling to resolve so you can see the benefits. Wishing you a happy recovery. Talk to Joseph.

Thank you for your question. One month post op is still really early on in the healing process and your nose will continue to change.Typically, the initial swelling after nose surgery subsides within two to three weeks.  However, residual swelling, especially in the tip of the nose, can take about a year to resolve as the contour refines. Swelling can also vary through the day, being more prominent in the morning. Try and be patient and if you still have concerns later on, follow up with your surgeon.
