Fluctuations in nose tip swelling 8 weeks post op, columella lower than right after taking the splint off, is that normal?

I’m 8 weeks post op, and I noticed that on some days left side of my nose (middle of nose-towards the tip) is more swollen and other days it’s the right side.It makes my nose look slightly crooked. I will mention that right side of my nose is still numb while left is not.Is fluctuation in swelling at this point normal?Especially the way I described where it shifts sides? Also my columella appears lower than what it was when the cast came off, is this swelling? Will it lift as swelling goes down?

Eight weeks post op is still really early on in the healing process. Residual swelling, especially in the tip of the nose can take about a year to resolve as the contour refines. Swelling can also vary through the day, being more prominent in the morning. Your nose will probably continue to change gradually over the next several months. I know it's difficult but try and be patient. Best of luck to you!

Hi.  Thank you for your question.  Asymmetrical swelling post rhinoplasty is very common.  It can take up to a year for your nose to heal completely including any residual swelling you may have.  Give it more time and it is most likely that you will see more and more improvement.  Best of luck to you.
