Venous lake on my lip. Dr wants to do sclerotherapy but dr has never done this on a Venuos lake before

Has any Dr's done this procedure on a Venus lake that you know of. Will it work or make it worse. The Dr said the Venus lake is rare and he has never used this procedure on a lip before but now honks it will work

This can be treated by lasers or desicciation, I would avoid sclerotherapy to this area unless the person is an expert in this treatment.  Best, Dr. Emer.

We treat venous lakes with our ND:YAG laser. In most cases two treatments are necessary. The laser is well tolerated without the need for numbing cream. I would avoid sclerotherapy in this area. Be well, Dr. M

My usual preference for treating venous lake is the VBeam laser. You may want to search for a cosmetic dermatologist who performs laser treatment for venous lake.

Hello, venous lakes are benign dilations of blood vessels involving the lips. I usually use a vascular laser with very good results and would suggest that you have this treatment performed by a doctor familiar with this technique.

It would be nice to have a picture of the lip vein.  I usually treat these with either sclerotherapy or, more commonly, a 940 diode laser with excellent results.  This can be done under local anesthesia with no downtime.
