Is IPL for rosacea suitable for Indian skin: I lie between Fitzpatrick 3-4. (Photos)

IPL can be utilized on Fitz 3 and 4 with the proper settings.  We use an IPL called the Max G IPL which has a skintel that allows us to first measure the amount of melanin in the skin.  This number registers between 1 and 99 and we blue tooth it into the IPL.  Based on the melanin, settings are selected and we have treated many Fitz IV with very good results.  I think the key issue, still, is to maximize your outcome by being treated in the fall/winter.  I am also a Fitz III to IV and I have no hesitation treating my skin with IPL in the wintertime and with the utilization of the skintel.

Thank you for your interesting question. IPL is a great laser for redness, broken capillaries and hyper pigmentation. You are not Fitzpatrick 3-4 but rather 5, so you need an experienced physician to perform your treatments. With that said, in your case suffering also from active acne, I would perform a chemical peel first and than have few sessions with the IPL. Please make sure you use a prescription bleaching agent for at least 4 weeks before the chemical peel.
