In a face with recessed midface but prominent lateral projection of zygoma and arches, would anterior malar augmentation be enough to mitigate ptosis of the soft tissue after reduction malarplasty? I've seen some doctors present this as a solution but I can't find any articles that support this. Also would such augmentation need to be done concurrently with the osteotomy or is there a time period afterwards during which sagging can be prevented?
