Can laser help me to get rid of these eyelid surgery scars? (Photos)

Question

I had eyelid surgery 6 months ago. I flew to his country to have it done. I miscommunicated with the primary surgeon. Positive thing is that he cut off excess skin and hadn't left me blind. Bad thing is that now I have these scars. What can I do to smoothen them out? I've found laser clinics and specialists there told me it will take 4 sessions. We did one. But now I have doubts that it will help. Maybe I should save it for scar revision. But I want to avoid any other surgical interven

The elevated portions of the scars appear to be excess fibrosis, i.e. hypertrophic scars. The use of intralesional injections of anti-inflammatory agents is the conventional way of shrinking and flattening elevated scars of all kinds, such as hypertrophic scars in which there is an overabundance of fibrous tissue production. When injected in the proper amounts and concentrations typically flattens and also blanches the scars. Once this is achieved, IF any additional improvement is desired, then professionally performed manual Dermastamp microneedling can be performed to better blend the superficial color and texture of the previously treated scars with the surrounding normal skin. To date, expensive "bells and whistles" fraxel lasers, much like RF gizmos, have a whole lot more marketing and social media influencer hype to support their use than any hard science. And surgical revisions run the risk for the subsequent development of stretch scars and even tram track stitch tracks. Make sure that you consult a board certified cosmetic dermatologist and best of luck.

Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery.
