Excessive sweating after transaxillary BA

Question

Hello there! In March I had my transaxillary breast augmentation with implants placed under the gland. Just a background fact, I’ve never been a sweaty person, and mostly not from the armpits. As I had my surgery done right before summer, I thought it could be normal, but right now that we’re approaching winter, it’s weird that even when I’m freezing my armpits just stars sweating out of nowhere. Could it be related to some issue with the procedure or what else?

I have been performing axillary breast augmentations for over 25 years And never heard about this problem. It is most likely not related since if anything you probably lose some sweat glands (good thing)

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

I encourage you to return to your surgeon's office for an examination.  If there is no obvious disruption of the sweat glands you can consider non surgical treatments to reduce sweating, or even Botox injections.
