After 4 sessions of laser tattoo removal--Candela ND Yag. (photos)

Question

I had 4 session of laser tattoo removal and on my last session the tattoo is looking swollen, red and very sore. The last session was done 9 weeks ago and it still very sensitive by touch and red. Is there scaring or forming a keloid please? Thanks

Based solely on your photos, this looks like scarring. Schedule an appointment with your dermatologist to discuss treatment options. In terms of your tattoo, if you weren't using the PicoSure laser, you might want to try it as it's currently the best laser on the market. My best,

This looks like a hypertrophic scar that needs alternative treatment.  I suggest a formal consultation with a laser expert.  Best, Dr. Emer.

It is possible that is forming scar tissue so a scar cream such as me derms can be used now as well as prescription topical steroid to flatten area. A test spot with a picosecond laser such as picosure or enlighten may show a better response.
