Tanning after laser tattoo removal on scalp. SMP removed, however some remnants of pigmentation remain.

I would like to possibly use tanning bed on scalp to help even out skin on scalp, had laser removal 5 weeks ago, but some pigment remains. Not enough, I believe, to have another laser session. Remaining hair is still in telogen from laser, but I would like to get a tan on top of my head to even out the skin, and I believe it will help remove the rest. Been using OTC retinol cream and Emu oil, and fish oil capsules, to help thicken skin. Want to know if it's safe to do this, or wait.

In general, I don't like to laser this close the eye, but you should be fine. Your swelling should resolve on its own. Try cold compresses. My best, Dr. Sheila Nazarian @drsheilanazarian on Instagram

As the spot size increases there is a change in the depth/penetration of the laser depending on the power and type of laser.  Best, Dr. Emer.
