After child birth, many lapyscopic GYN surgeries, including a hysterectomy, and bouts of IBS, my belly pokes out. Even with strenuous exercise and diet, my belly will not reduce. Is a tummy a safe option to regain my former slim belly?
Answer: Irritable bowel syndrome and tummy tuck Is not unreasonable to have a tummy tuck even if you have irritable bowel syndrome. If your plastic surgeon is unsure about irritable bowel syndrome he or she should discuss this with your primary care physician.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Previous Surgery is Not a Contraindication to Tummy Tuck Previous abdominal surgery and irritable bowel syndromes are not contraindications to the tummy tuck procedure. In many cases, the scars from previous surgeries can be replaced with a single, low bikini-type incision that is well hidden.A thorough physical examination is required to evaluate the abdomen for any hernias. Sometimes I order a CT scan to further rule this out if there are concerning findings on physical examination. The tummy tuck or abdominoplasty procedure is ideal not only in removing excess skin, but also tightening the underlying muscles of the abdomen. This is called "rectus plication" or "diastasis repair". It is essentially done by performing an internal corset with permanent sutures that bring the six-pack muscles back together in the midline. It is responsible for the hourglass waistline and drop in dress size that occurs following tummy tuck procedures.
