I am wondering if the wounding from microneedling might benefit more if it has access to the platelets that PRP provide.

Answer: Same day You can combine microneedling with prp topical and even do injected as well to get more of a benefit.

Answer: PRP and alopecia In my practice we do them together. I believe most practices do. We harvest your platletsw and then do some injections combined with microneedeling and then we have some PRP applied topically. Once a month for four months is our protocol. I hope that helps Gail Humble MD

Answer: I inject the PRP directly into the scalp so there is no need to do microneedling the point of microneedling is to create minor openings in the skin (eg the face area) and then oftentimes the PRP in applied topically to this area. I do not see why doing microneedling in the scalp would be beneficial since i am already injecting the PRP directly into the scalp, so it is clearly reaching the hair roots. david berman md
