Can my body get shape with a 360 belt lypectomy? I have lost 160 pounds with gastric bypass, im 2 years post op. Would I have a waist I dont want to look like a square.
Answer: Wonderful candidate for a great shape Wonderful decision on losing weight permanently, now the wonderful journey of feeling and looking awesome, curvaceous and confident just started. You are a great candidate for a LBL in order to get rid of the saggy skin on your abdomen, lateral and lift your butt beautifully. And also I would recommend a nice and tight muscle repair in order to achieve a small and tapered waist. Some liposuction to back will help to complete your curvaceous result and adding some volume to your butt will be just the cherry on the pay.Be encouraged.Dr. Cardenas

Answer: Transformative Potential of 360 Belt Lipectomy Post Massive Weight Loss Congratulations on your remarkable achievement of losing 160 pounds following gastric bypass surgery. Your journey and commitment to health are truly commendable. Based on your history and provided pictures, a 360 belt lipectomy, also known as a circumferential lower body lift, seems like an ideal choice for you at this stage. Procedure Overview: The 360 circumferential lower body lift addresses multiple areas in one comprehensive procedure. It involves: Raising and reducing the pubic region. Tightening the rectus abdominis muscle from the sternum down to the pubic region. Relocating the belly button and removing excess skin and fat from above the pubic region to above the belly button. Lifting and reducing the excess skin and fat around the hips and upper portion of the buttocks. Surgical Details: Performed under general anesthesia, the procedure typically takes about 5 to 6 hours. It's usually an outpatient surgery, but most patients are monitored for a day or two postoperatively for safety. Drains are inserted and are generally kept in place for two to three weeks to manage swelling and fluid accumulation. Recovery time off work can range from two to three weeks, depending on the nature of your occupation. A 360 belt lipectomy is a transformative procedure that can significantly improve the shape and contour of your abdomen, pubic region, hips, and buttocks. It's tailored to address the specific needs that arise following massive weight loss. Given the extent of your weight loss and the consequent changes in your body, this procedure offers a comprehensive approach to reshaping and refining your body contour. I hope this provides a clear understanding of what a 360 belt lipectomy entails and how it could benefit you. Wishing you the best of luck with your decision and the potential procedure. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Abdominal contouring Congratulations on your weight loss! The short answer is: yes you could easily obtain an hourglass shape with a properly performed lower body lift. During this procedure unwanted fat can be directly excised or liposuctioned and "wanted fat" in the gluteal region can be maintained. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in massive weight loss procedures. Best of luck!

Answer: Body lifting From your photo you clearly need a full tummy tuck with tummy muscle tightening. It is hard to tell the laxity in your buttock or thighs, but you likely need some thigh lifting and perhaps buttock augmentation also. I agree you do not want to look square. And if you have your waist narrowed and you buttock tightened or filled out, you will get more of the hourglass shape. See someone who does a lot of body lifting so they can see and feel the laxity. Check out their post op photos to see the 'shapes' they achieve. Good luck.
