Can A BBL count as a medical leave?

Question

My job gave me a medical leave form for my doctor to fill out saying that i am having surgery and i need time off since my job is very physical. However i dont know if this will count as medical leave. I wanted to know has any doctors filled out this form for their patients even though its cosmetic. And did you say exactly what the procedure was or did you make it sound more medical than just plastic surgery

Medical leave laws are complicated.  Those in MI are no doubt different from those in CA.  Patients who have asked for written verification stating they need to take time to recuperate from surgery ask me to indicate the expected duration of leave (in case they have to extend it later).  The type of surgery was not referenced on the form.  Because the employer cannot, in many cases, ask for the reason for the accommodation, the information is shared voluntarily by the employee.
