Had custom lasik Oct 1 2016. Halos and starbursts have been exactly the same since day 1. Saw another doctor He says this can be corrected with an enhancement but my original doctor says they cant do an enhancement because theres not enough residual perscription and i will end up way worse. What do i do??? The Alphagan Drops work me 80% but who wants to use them everyday for the rest of my life? Any help thanks
Answer: Prescription Issue If a prescription fixes you issue then the fix would be quite easy. If you haven't seen the MD who did the surgery, it's time you do. If you have seen the MD who did the surgery, and they haven't told you the issue, then is may be time for a second opinion by a cornea or refractive specialist. A topography and prescription would be very helpful.

Answer: Halos at night 1 year later There is a risk of halos/glare/sunbursts at night after getting lasik, but in general it's relatively low. Recent studies have shown that many people before having had lasik reported visual disturbances/glare at night. Other recent studies have reported that night time symptoms are actually reduced after getting lasik (in comparison to contact lens wear). Essentially it's important to understand that we all have abberations at night, and in fact our true glasses prescription is slightly different after dark (The reason for this is beyond the scope of the question). Certainly when you get glasses every year you aren't sold a pair for daytime and a separate pair for night driving. When we perform lasik, we are similarly optimizing your vision for daytime. So my recommendation would be to obtain the pair of glasses that has the tiny prescription and try them at night. See if that resolves the issue for now. Eventually the prescription will be big enough to treat with the laser and you will do really well.
