LASIK is FDA approved to be used to treat farsightedness (hyperopia) within certain parameters.  A surgical consult with a LASIK physician would let you know if you are eligible for LASIK.

Can LASIK help farsightedness?

Dry eyes can be caused by a variety of factors.  It is recommended that you visit your eye doctor for a dry eye evaluation.

1.5 years after Lasik my eyes are red and dry, please suggest what should I do?

It can take a while for halos and glare to go away post-PRK.  I find that most patients start to see less issues with halos and glare around 3-6 months post-PRK and that they have the most trouble with halos and glare between months 1-3 post PRK.  A really thick re-wetting drop will often help in clearing the vision temporarily.

Got prk April 18 2018 and doctor said my eyes are completely healed, only recently this week I am seeing halos and glare at night and my vision is worse at night

Is it normal to suddenly see halos and glare 2 months after PRK?

Digital media is okay and will not hinder your healing.  While using computers or phones, it is important that you keep your eyes hydrated with artificial tears, remembering to blink, and taking frequent short breaks.

I had my prk surgery 8 days ago and I was wondering if it would damage my eye if I used my phone a lot. I am 18 and I went for PRK because I had keratoconus. I usually lubricate it with artificial tears almost about every hour, also I made the mistake of removing my BCL just 3 days post op. Although I feel my vision has improved reasonably. I am satisfied with my vision compared to others at 8 days post op.

When is it ok to watch screens for long periods after a PRK surgery?

As you are continuing to heal, there is a time between 1-3 months that some patients do have some double or triple images especially notices at night.  This phenomenon tends to go away by month three if not before.  A nice thick rewetting drop will often help that vision to sharpen while you wait for your eyes to continue healing.

My left eye is slightly blurry, while my right (which had an astigmatism before) is worse and has triple ghosting really bad with lights at night. My vision before was actually quite clear, but I wanted to not have to wear reading glasses when I read for a long time, so I got PRK so that I don't have to keep up with glasses or get eye strain so easily. I have been very discouraged due to the fact that my vision is so much worse than it was before. I completely regret my decision to get PRK.:(

I had PRK 1 month ago but I still have blurriness. Isn't my vision supposed to be *mostly* clear by this point?

Eyes can definitely heal at different rates after surgery.  There is still a lot of time that the eyes need to heal fully and vision can fluctuate quite a bit within the first couple of weeks especially.

One week follow-up scheduled for 6/27 but am starting to get worried my right eye will not improve and will need to live with it for the next 3-6 months until I can get an enhancement if eligible. I was -3.50 in each eye prior to LASIK. Thanks!

Left eye 20/20; right eye still blurry 5 days after LASIK (6/19). Reason to be concerned or is this normal?

The need for reading glasses is mostly based on age.  Being indoors with dimmer lights, the pupils get larger and decrease the range of focus so reading glasses are often more necessary indoors.

LASIK done 1 month ago. 20/20 vision both eyes and left eye had astigmatism (5.00 and right eye 4.50) Readers needed for inside the house to see computer and small print.

Outside I can read and see very well without readers. Is this normal? 1 month post LASIK.

It is best to wait until your vision has been stable for a bit after your LASIK surgery.  The stability can be followed at your surgical center in order to find the best time frame for you to consider an enhancement.  Also even though your eyes may not show significant amount of dryness to account for the vision that you are experiencing, it is pertinent to bring the tear layer up to normal before you have another procedure as well.

Initial LASIK in Jan 2018. 1 month out, 20/15 vision. Told the flap heals in 3 months so thought I was in the clear. ~4 months after surgery, started to notice drops in left eye (-4.50 pre-surgery, now barely 20/40). Eyes look slightly dry, but not sufficient to justify. Q: Do you recommend squeezing in a touch-up LASIK before 6 month mark or wait for PRK later? i.e. is it more medically effective to get a touch-up within 6 months vs. how high are chances of eyesight improving 5 months out?

Benefits of enhancement within 6 months post initial LASIK vs. waiting 1+ year out for PRK?

The best way for you to find out if anything is of concern with the blurred vision that you are experiencing would be for you to be seen by your surgeon or clinic.  They will be able to determine the underlying issue to the blur and if needed be able to treat anything of concern.

I had LASIK two days ago. Yesterday at my post op I had 20/15 in both eyes. This morning I woke up and my eye guards had come off while I was sleeping and one of my eyes is blurry. I’m freaking out. Did I mess up my eye?

I usually prepare my patients for better vision toward the end of 3 months after PRK with still some fine-tuning of the vision happening between the 3-6 month mark.

How long will it before I am able to see clearly after 2 months post PRK? Still seeing double, very frustrating
