Latanaprost is an eye drop used to treat glaucoma. Lattisse is used to increase eyelash growth which was original also used as lumigan to treat glaucoma. Lattisse was adopted and packaged in a manager for use in eyelash growth following it's FDA approval.
Both are prostaglandins that have the side effect of growing lashes. Only Latisse has been reviewed and approved by the FDA for lash growth. Of all the prostaglandins, Latisse is the best one in terms of hair growth: density,length,etc. The other problem with latanoprost is that there are several generic versions that have variable concentrations and powers compared with the branded product so that generic latanoprost could be several orders of magnitude less powerful than Latisse.

Other than the packaging, Latisse and Lumigan are identical. We recommended Lumigan to patients years before Latisse was approved. Put a drop in the cap and use a very fine eyeliner brush. It works better than the brushes that come with Latisse anyway.
