I had exploratory and hysterectomy surgeries 40 years ago due to endometriosis. 20 years ago I began to have pain that is now severe and chronic. I have since had 2 surgeries to remove nerves and a couple procedures for scare tissue removal. The nerves have become entrapped in scar tissue. Can botox be used to kill these nerves and stop the pain?
Answer: No As the previous provider mentioned botox does not work on the sensory nerves. I recommend loosening the scar tissue by some type of fractional CO2 or Erbium YAG laser treatment. Treating the scar tissue can decrease the traction and pain.

Answer: Botox and nerves Botox temporarily paralyzes muscles by blocking motor nerves from communicating with the muscles. It does not affect sensory nerves which cause pain and discomfort. Sensory nerves that have become entrapped may need other procedures such as decompression, neurectomy, ablation, or injections to deaden the sensation. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Answer: Nerves and Botox Botox has no effect on nerves themselves, it's simply attaches to the recipient muscle junction where it blocks the muscle from normal contraction. You need to discuss your options with your treating physician. Good luck from New York City

Answer: Might work Several patients of mine had chronic pain from nerves in scar tissue such as you described. Botox can be very helpful in reducing these pains. Look for an experienced practitioner close to your home since dosage might take several tweaks to get right. Good luck!

Answer: Botox doesn't kill nerves Botox doesn't necessarily kill nerves. Instead, it blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles, but this is temporary. I'm so sorry you're dealing with chronic and severe pain. I haven't heard of botox being used on entrapped nerves to help stop the chronic pain. I would encouraged you to speak with possibly a neurologist (or if you have a pain doctor?) to see if they have heard anything about this. Best of luck, and maybe botox could help you, it is an amazing drug.
