I had gyno surgery 4 days ago (yes I know it's very early in the healing process etc) but the two sides of my chest look vastly different. The right side looks fine but on the left there's like an indentation along my pec line(not the nipple). Will this go away??? It would really suck if I spent thousands of dollars only to have a messed up looking chest :( I had gland excision + vaser lipo done by the way

Answer: Chest depression after gynecomastia surgery Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry that your current results have caused you concern. Difficult to comment without a full series of photographs but as you mentioned you are very early in your recovery timeframe. Asymmetrical swelling to account for the differences in your chest is not uncommon and I would allow your results more time to fully mature. Hang in there.

Answer: Patience is the mark of a good patient Patients will undergo various changes over the course of several weeks following surgery. Swelling and bruising will settle, soft tissue will stretch and re-drape and scars will evolve. For this reason, I typically discourage patients from passing any judgements on their results in the immediate post operative period. There is likely to be asymmetries which should settle over the next 4-6 weeks. Ultimately, most patients do not achieve a final result until 4-6 months post operatively. As always, discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
