There could be a little dispersion from the injection sight because of the trauma, but nothing to worry about overall.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Life with small children can have unexpected surprises. I sympathize with you, but I doubt any severe damage has been done. I expect the botox to start working in 3 days and by that time you will have forgotten this minor hiccup.Good luck and no harm done!
More than likely getting hit in the forehead will not impact your botox results. Botox works by entering the nerve to decrease mobility to the corresponding muscle. The botox itself is unlikely to be damaged by this type of trauma. It is possible if the trauma occurred within hours of your treatment that botox could disperse to other areas unintended areas.
Thank you for your question kellymac83. I understandyour concern. Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associatedwith facial expression. It is important to refrain from certain activities that may cause movement of Botox as they can possibly lead to side effects such as blurred vision. If I had a patient who was accidentally hit by her son 2.5 hours after a treatment I would say that there would unlikely be any major consequences other than the possibility of a bruise from the hit. Please consult with a doctor for specificrecommendations. Good luck!
I am sure you are safe and have nothing to worry about especially if your son is very young.Good luck from NYV
It is unlikely that a small bump would cause a problem with your botox. I think you should not panic.
It is not at all likely that the hit on the head will affect the Botox. If anything it could make it disperse a very small distance from the injection site but probably there will be no effect
Botox is a chemical that is immediately taken up by the nerves to the certain muscles in the face. Trauma to the area may hurt (ouch) but typically it does not alter the ultimate results. Don't worry. Make sure your son tells you he is sorry (I think flowers may be just fine). I hope this helps. Dr. Dillon
Hello and thank you for your question. I would not be worried about any side effects from being hit on or near the injection site. Clearly if you feel uncertain and start to see any side effects than I would reach out to your local physician.
Since the masseter is so large it takes a bit of time--sometimes a couple of months to see the complete results and often takes more than one injection session before the results are what you want. Make sure you are seeing a board certified dermatologist with experience in cosmetic procedures

OK, a few reasons why Botox may not be working. First, not enough units used, second, it was not placed properly, third, the Botox was not diluted properly. You do not mention any issues with the Voluma - so I assume you are happy. I think it is as simple as going back to the injector and...
