I recently had a rhinoplasty procedure done to correct my deviated septum, shave down the hump on my nose bridge and raise my drooping tip. My side profile looks amazing, although there is a slight hump remaining it’s negligible and looks natural with my ethnic features. My concern is the front view. I’ve noticed my nose is shaped like a tear drop or a pear which takes away from the femininity of my face. I’ve seen little to no change in the tip width front view from month 2 (it is now month 6).
Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from your photos after the surgery, it takes about 1 or 1.5 years for the nose to take its shape. But there will be no change in the irregular appearance of your nose, so I recommend revision rhinoplasty to get rid of this image. It would be better face to face consultation. Best regards!

Answer: Rhinoplasty recovery: things you should know Thank you for your question and photos. When recovering from a rhinoplasty procedure, it's important to remember that the nose can continue to change throughout the following year. Being that your surgery was only six months ago, you may be experiencing some residual swelling and healing that will significantly impact your ability to see your final result. After a full recovery period of a year or more, you may then consider a revision surgery if you’re still unsatisfied with your results. Keep in mind that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to the loss of structural support and scar tissue. The importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your medical history, discuss your concerns with you, and help you decide on the best course of action.

Answer: Wider Nose The middle 1/3 of your nose is definitely wider after your surgery. I think you should ask your surgeon what their explanation is for this change. The surgeon may have taken down the hump without performing osteotomies (incisions in the bones) to "close the open roof" which means to tilt the nasal bones inward to avoid a trapezoidal appearance to the nose. Alternatively, the surgeon may have placed spreader grafts which can widen that aspect of the nose while enhancing your ability to breathe. Without better pictures and an exam, it's challenging for me to comment further. If this troubles you, you may consider revision surgery around the one year mark.

Answer: Nasal tip fullness six months post rhinoplasty: Nasal tip fullness six months post rhinoplasty: it really takes a full year to see the final best of the tip in most noses, and even longer in noses with particularly thick skin of the tip and supra tip area. If you wish to speed up the process of scar tissue resolution and swelling resolution you may Wish to discuss with you a surgeon the use of steroid injection to the tip and supra tip area to speed up the resolution of swelling and scar tissue that is typical for this area.
