Can I get a rhinoplasty procedure while on Accutane ?

Hello and thank you for your question. You should be off Accutane for 3-6 months prior to surgery.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system.  You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon.  If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon.Best wishes and good luck.

We usually recommend patients to be off Accutane for about 5-6 months before elective facial surgery, including rhinoplasty. Safety first. Good luck.

  No, it is best to be off Accutane for a few months before undergoing a rhinoplasty procedure.  A closed rhinoplasty procedure would avoid the external scar, since all of the incisions are placed on the inside of the nose.
