yes it is but it takes. alot more treatments and product to work than the company says. also alone, its not as effective as they say, you may need "more" like cellfina, sculptra, fillers, fat grafting ect. Best, Dr. Emer.
Qwo is a new injection treatment for Moderate to Severe Cellulite. It works by dissolving the collagen bands that tether skin and fat causing cellulite dimples. The results are permanent. Of course with weight or hormonal changes, new cellulite can always develop. I hope this helps. Wishing you the best of health, Dr Wright.
Qwo is meant to permanently dissolve the bands that cause cellulite. This does not mean that it is not possible for new cellulite to be created but it will permanently dissolve the cellulite bands that are present and injected. Also, not all bands can be treated with Qwo as some are more of a stretch mark concern or bands that could be treated with an exercise routine. Going forward, I would recommend you to complete multiple in office consultations with board certified experts to discuss your aesthetic goals. This way, they can work alongside you to determine your best treatment option. Best of luck, Kian Karimi MD, FACS
Hello! Thank you for your question. Some patients have a visible result with QWO as early as three weeks after their injections. Clinical studies support longevity in QWO for at least a year or longer, however we are continuing to monitor how many years patients can expect to see improvement.
The FDA trials demonstrated long term efficacy but they can't say the results are permanent. However, the mechanism of action, dividing the fibrous band, should yield lasting results. Three treatments are necessary to achieve optimal results and there is no recommendation for ongoing treatments.
Typically results last at least one year. The FDA says “QWO can last up to one year but most likely longer."
The Qwo studies submitted to the FDA for approval of this medication looked at results up to 1 year, with reportedly stable improvement. I don't know if anyone has official data for Qwo results beyond a year, but I think the current data supports long-standing treatment results. The treatment itself is relatively straightforward, but the recovery has significant bruising, especially with the first round of injections. Good luck in your research and treatment journey!
Quo results, while not permanent, will last typically from one to five years. Patients can consider maintenance treatments as needed. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more.
Thanks for your question! Qwo works by dissolving the bands of connective tissue that cause dimpling in the skin. Your question is a little tricky to answer. Because it is newly approved by the FDA, we do not yet have long-term data on how long it will last. From the official studies, we know it will last a year. Please consult with a physician offering Qwo in your area for a more full discussion.
The results from Qwo after the full treatment, three rounds of Qwo injections, should be permanent. The enzyme, collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes, is dissolving the collagen bands that are causing the divots in the first place. Once those bands are gone, they should not reform. Now, if you gain weight over time then other bands can become more apparent and may need additional treatment. However, this is not a treatment like botox that needs to be repeated every few months.
