Hello! I’m interested in the new injectable treatment for cellulite named Qwo. It just became FDA approved for the treatment of cellulite this year. Does anyone know if it could be used on the stomach to treat irregularities from liposuction? Any ideas on how much each treatment will cost? Thank you in advance.
Answer: Qwo: the new treatment for cellulite? Endo Aesthetics has recently received FDA approval for their injectable Qwo for treatment of moderate to severe cellulite in the BUTTOCKS of adult women. Though not available to doctors until Spring 2021, clinical trials are encouraging. The full treatment consists of three rounds of injections, spaced 21 days apart. After waiting 30 minutes in the PS's office once the shot is administered, you may leave and return to your normal activities. You will notice bruising which can be extreme and tender for two weeks or longer. The drug will not treat sagging or laxity. Ideal candidates have distinct “tight” cellulite divots caused by fibrous bands. Two types of collagen-degrading enzymes in Quo eat away at the fibrous bands connecting skin to muscle, gradually dissolving the tethers and allowing skin to float up and smooth out. No information on cost is available at this time.

Answer: QWO Qwo is an FDA approved treatment for moderate to severe cellulite of the buttocks. For irregularities of the abdomen there are other treatment options available. I encourage you to begin by visiting with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation and evaluation.

Answer: Latest treatment for cellulite Qwo is an injectable treatment that works by targeting the fibrous bands under the skin that constrict and cause the dimpled appearance of cellulite. It is not indicated for treatment of fat. While the injectable has been approved by the FDA, it won’t be in doctors’ offices until next spring. I recommend scheduling a consultation with an experienced, board-certified physician who can assess you in person and determine the best way to address the contour irregularities you have after your liposuction procedure. A qualified doctor will be able to recommend a customized treatment plan using additional lipo or nonsurgical skin tightening treatments like ThermiTight to produce a better result for you.

Answer: Treatment for liposuction side effects Thank you for your question. Qwo is a brand new injectable treatment for addressing cellulite. It is a prescription medication that, once injected, works by targeting the fibrous bands that lead to the dimpled appearance of cellulite. As the bands are destroyed, the skin becomes smoother and cellulite is visibly reduced. Although Qwo is FDA-approved, it won’t be available at your doctor’s office until Spring 2021. Since it targets the bands and not fat cells, it would not be a good option for your liposuction irregularities. Although it sounds like you may have scar tissue in the area as well, this agent has not been tried or tested for that purpose. I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified physician with expertise in body contouring for further assessment and treatment recommendations. For liposuction abnormalities there are other tested methods to smooth out irregularities from poorly performed liposuction. We often release scars under any divots, use ThermiTight to tighten skin if necessary, and use micro-liposuction and fat transfer to smooth out bumps and divots.

Answer: Improving Cellulite with Cellfina, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra, Sculptra, VASER, Renuva Fat, Bellafill; Subcision; NovaThreads this injectable does very little, most cellulite needs cutting of the bands (cellfina) and injectables like sculptra, radiesse, bellafill, renuva. RF treatments and muscle toning such as trusculpt are needed as maintenance. irregularities on the stomach will not be treated with this that needs revision liposuction, tummy tuck and fat grafting in most instances. A combination approach would give the most improvement. Cellfina itself is the best treatment we have for cellulite but works best in combination with Sculptra and Renuva fat injections or bellafill both are long term; as well as body treatments like Venus Legacy/Exilis Ultra, Cellutone/Zwave. A VASER HI DEF procedure can be done for more contouring and smoothing, if you're a candidate. Smooth novathreads maybe can help build collagen as well and improve the apperance. Cellulite can't be cured, but can be improved with treatments and maintenance. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
