No matter what technique is used to remove PMMA, it is virtually impossible to remove all of it. Thus it may not be worth it or necessary to travel down to Colombia for "specialist". Glad to help. 

Hello, Unfortunately, there is no "safe way" to remove PMMA. Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) is injected in a liquid (gel) form and just goes in between the tissues and structures (like any other liquid would) to later become hard as cement. This hardening is what usually creates an immunological reaction of the body and stimulates an elimination (which it cannot achieve at the end). Because it spreads around and through internal structures, it frequently affects nerves, blood vessels, lymphatic drainage, etc.I have personally dealt with a few cases and there is simply no "safe way" to do this, just hope that it didn't make contact with an important structure. My recommendation is (this depends on the area where it was injected which it is not mentioned on your question) that if it's only hard and not causing you any problems or symptoms, don't manipulate it.Some people only get the product hardening and nothing else.Hope this helped you on your doubts.Take care and good luck, Dr. Fernandez Goico
