Without photos it's sort of hard to answer, but I'll give you a general one. There are many factors we take into account when deciding that a patient can have liposuction alone or that in fact skin needs to be removed:
1) Skin excess (if it is present, removing fat will accentuate this aspect more)
2) Muscle separation (some patients end up having some muscle separation after pregnancy or after major weight loss) and this cannot be fixed through the minimal incisions used in a liposuction.
3) Skin tone (sometimes a very thin and flaccid skin looks better when pulled)
Another point that I take into account is asking the patient if she wants to have more children. If the answer is yes, I recommend not to proceed with a Tummy tuck and wait until she is done in that department.

To be honest, I would wait until at least a month after you stop breastfeeding. Remember, during this physiological process, there are many changes in your body and your metabolism, and your hormonal state is very different from your regular one. I would definitely wait; after all, this is an elective procedure.

Thank you for your question, even though this is something your surgeon should answer for you as you already have a scheduled surgery. To be honest, it depends on the amount of liposuction to be done (the amount of fat to be removed) and the areas that are treated. Another key aspect is the technology used for the liposuction. For ex, I like to use Vaser Lipo in all of my patients as it protects better the adjacent structures (blood vessels, nerves, connective tissue) and therefor, the trauma to the body is much less than that with a traditional liposuction technique.
Then again, you should have this answered by your scheduled surgeon.

I understand your concern, though to be very honest, it doesn't seem to be much loose skin there. There are many options for skin tightening; however the best one in my opinion is RENUVION J PLASMA. It is the latest technology that uses dermal cauterization with plasma energy to create an important tightening of the skin. I see there is a little of fat accumulation as well, so I would probably also recommend Vaser Liposuction.

That is a very good question, but one that you'll find a wide range of answers.
Here is my opinion: there is a known elevated risk of thrombosis (blood clot formation) after a tummy tuck. The modern molecules of blood thinners do not increase the bleeding too much, and still I prefer a patient that bleeds a little more, rather than forming a blood clot, and eventually suffering a thromboembolism. Making the patient WALK is the best way to avoid this, but I am not next to the patient 24/7, so I prefer to reduce that risk and always prescribe blood thinners.

That is a very good question.
Even though theoretically it should not affect the muscle repair (if anything, the muscle repair will reinforce the scar for the Hysterectomy) I would still wait more than 2 weeks. There is some residual swelling still at the level of 2 weeks, and you want your surgeon to have a clear sight of what can be achieved without the diversion of the swelling. 6 weeks would be a more ideal timing in my opinion.

A Tummy tuck is a good alternative (if the patient has enough redundant skin) to enhance a previous liposuction with a poor outcome. The uneven aspects and the irregularities are somewhat fixed due to the pulling. You can sort of tell yourself by standing in front of the mirror and pulling the skin down a bit, it should enhance the irregular aspect.

Theoretically, no. A Full tummy tuck involves a more invasive procedure than the mini tummy tuck. In a full TT, more skin is removed, bleeding is somehow a little more, and the trauma to the body is bigger. Last, but not least, the full tummy tuck involves a full muscle repair (whereas the mini TT does not). This increases the pressure of the abdominal cavity more, therefore (again theoretically) should increase the risk of Thrombosis and thromboembolism when compared to a Mini TT.

If your job is demanding and need of you to carry weight, then the time off should no shorter than 6 weeks. Why? During this surgery (the tummy tuck) a muscle repair is performed, and it is recommended not to do any activities for at least 6 weeks after the surgery, so the plication of the muscles is not damaged. If this happens, the surgery needs to be revised to the point that it is almost like doing a tummy tuck all over again (in other words, make sure you take very seriously the down time after this surgery).

You are what we sometimes refer to as a "border line"case of tummy tuck. The key aspect about your case why I would go with the tummy tuck is because I see a mild muscle diastase (separation) which is only treated with the tummy tuck. With liposuction alone, the fat will be removed but the skin excess will be more pronounced, and the general aspect is actually worse.You are actually a VERY GOOD case for a tummy tuck (combined with Vaser Liposuction).

He's friendly and kind and knows what he's doing. He is quite determined in giving you natural looking results which sometimes can result in perhaps "underachieving" what you had in mind. I had breast implants and even though a change in size wouldn't make me go through surgery again, I wish my size had been a couple CC's larger. What has me thinking of revision surgery is the feel of my implants. I had highly cohesive motive implants under the muscle, and being of African descent means my muscles are quite thick by nature. I wish he had used the ergonomix implants on me, or used a less cohesive implant, or let me have those massages. I have a friend that went to Venezuela and her implants are so soft and look so natural. I'm thinking of having a revision there.

My experience with Dr. Fernandez and his team was awesome. I came from centralamerica to get a tummytuck back in 2014. Now, I don't have a before picture with me, but I had stretch marks up to my bellybutton and a looot of loose skin after having my first baby. My boobs were also small and saggy. Anyway, Dr. Goico literally took away all of that loose skin by doing a tummy tuck -lipo of the flanks procedure. Not only I got rid of all the stretch marks that I had around my belly, but also he left me a nice silloute (specially around my waist area). The tummy tuck scar was really thin. I also got breast lift with implants and I was happy with those results as well, since I don't like huge boobs (because I'm curvy) he left me the perfect size to go with my hips so I don't look like I had surgery. He did a beautiful job (even gave me fake abs) and didn't left me looking like a plastic doll :) Lastly, but most importantly, I felt safe during the entire process because I knew I was in hands of professionals.
