Hello. I know I need to prepare by having food and entertainment ready for the both of us but will I be completely bedridden or knocked out from meds for too long to care for my child? She is pretty easy to take care of but I just don't know what to expect after surgery. Thanks!
Answer: Recovery post BBL Typically for my patients, I don’t have them sit for two weeks. I then have them sit on a “donut” (soft round pillow) for another month or so. It is best to try not to place pressure on the recipient area to try to get as much fat to survive as possible. For bruising, it usually subsides after about two weeks, but the swelling lasts longer. This should be discussed in detail at the time of your consultation with a Plastic Surgeon.

Answer: BBL recovery Thank you for your question. Each individual is different when it comes to recovery after a surgical procedure. To give you an idea, after this procedure you will not be able to sit directly on your buttocks or lie on your back for 2-3 weeks. You can expect some soreness, bruising and swelling for a couple of weeks. You can return to work in about two weeks and resume exercise in about four weeks. If possible I would recommend having someone help you with child care while you are recovering from the procedure. Hope this helps!

Answer: BBL and party in three days BBL recovery is dependent on how much fat is being transferred; the pain will be most in the areas of liposuction; whether you will be functional or not at three days can't be guarranteed and is depends on how tough you are. You will be able to fit into a loose dress and bandages are minimal usually involving a compression garment.

Answer: BBL Question Thank you for your question. It is good that you are planning ahead for your aftercare. If you can have some assistance during the first week, that would be very helpful. I recommend consulting with your surgeon since they are most familiar with the specifics of your surgery and medical history and every doctor may have a slightly different protocol. The first week I do not recommend any sitting or pressure on the buttocks. Sitting and laying down should be done with the weight mostly on the thighs. Swelling and bruising will subside within 6 to 8 weeks. I also recommend wearing your body garment until your surgeon instructs you otherwise, this will assist to reduce swelling and give you the best results possible. Best of luck.Sincerely, James Fernau, MD, FACSBoard Certified ENTBoard Certified Plastic SurgeryMember of ASPS, ASAPS, ISAPS, The Rhinoplasty Society, AAFPRS, OTO/HNS, ASLMS, International Federation for Adipose Therapeutics & Science
