Female to male: what can I expect from testosterone therapy as far as breast size?

Good question. We require all transgender, and non-binary, patients undergoing a top surgery to be on hormones for at least 18 months prior to their procedure. The reason for this is that hormones alone may result in a decrease of breast tissue, increased body and facial hair, and other significant physical changes. But keep in mind, ultimately, you may still need surgery to achieve the results you want. 
The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam.

Thanks for the question.  This can vary in my experience.  Some patients can experience a dramatic decrease in breast volume, but I have seen others that have very little response.  Most would suggest giving it a full year to assess the type of response.  After that you can consider TOPS surgery if there is still a substantial amount of breast tissue, excess skin, and larger areolas.  Hope this helps.

You may expect some small decrease in your breast size after approximately one year of testosterone therapy. 

Hello, thanks for sharing your query. Testosterone treatment helps in redistribution of body fat and also reduces the breast volume. The results can take upto 6 months and stabilize beyond that. After treatment once size of breast reduced the surgery can be performed via a periareolar incision minimizing scars. Consult a board certified plastic surgeon.
