The CoolSculpt company has a Treatment Considerations Form and Neuropathic Disorders are screened before having treatment. Every CoolSculpt office should have this form. While it is not considered one of the primary contraindications of CoolSculpt, you should consult with your specialist or physician who knows your medical history very well. I would personally not provide CoolSculpt for a patient with a history Neuropathic Disorders without clearance from their doctor first. Best, Dr. Anil Shah
While neuropathy is not a contraindication for CoolSculpting, I would encourage you to have a consultation with both your primary care doctor and the board-certified dermatologist who will be performing your CoolSculpting treatment. By communicating with both professionals, your treatment should be both safe and successful. You may require additional monitoring after your treatment to ensure your healing is complete and complication-free.
Thank you for your message! CoolSculpting is a great option for stubborn areas of fat that do not go away with diet and exercise alone. If you have diagnosed neuropathy, I would speak with your managing provider prior to having the procedure however. Side effects can include altered sensation to the area. You should also see that you are a candidate for the procedure based off of your fat distribution. We are looking for pinch-able fat!

However, it is best to schedule an in-person consultation with an experienced CoolSculpting provider who can determine the best treatment for your individual case. CoolSculpting is non-invasive, non-surgical and has an extremely low instance of complication, but it is always advised to seek professional consultation before making a treatment choice. Thank you again and best of luck!

Hello atx25 and thank you for your question! It is not too soon to begin your second application. The earliest that it is recommended to retreat that same area is four weeks after your first session. That being said, full results from Coolsculpting can take approximately 3-4 months to be seen...
We have done coolsculpting on patients with type 1 diabetes with very good results. Your diabetes should be well controlled. Poor circulation and neuropathy are contraindications to collsculpting and of course you would never want to treat in the area of your pump.
