Can any kind of jaw surgery be done to reduce my gonial angle? (Photo)

HI have gotten some orthodontic work from 14 to 17 years of age and had a side effect of a downward growing jaw along with the following side effects: - Long face - Gummy Smile - Permanent eye bags - Gonial angle increase - Bigger lips I'm wondering if any jaw surgery can be done to reduce my gonial angle and improve facial appearance. Much appreciated.

You appear to have a lower jaw which developed asymmetrically. Xrays would demonstrate the problem to you. consult a Maxillofacial surgeon in your area. The management is well described.

Jaw surgery is a large procedure, and you would definitely need to weigh the pros and cons first. One of the major reasons for having jaw surgery is to correct an abnormal bite. They also take into account problems with breathing, like sleep apnea, or mechanical issues like difficulty chewing....
