Lipo revision, fat transfer after Covid - should I reschedule surgery?

Question

Hi, I tested + for Covid may 19th and I have lipo revision with fat transfer scheduled may 26th. The clinic is asking me to to a pcr test and if neg they would go ahead. I'm nervous as I have read elective surgeries should wait 6-8 weeks after Covid infection. Is this surgery less invasive so doesn't count?

every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

If you have COVID, no general anesthesia should be done for 4 to 6 weeks after you have no more symptoms. COVID is very inflammatory, especially on the lungs.

You should reschedule your surgery after you test negative and have at least 3-6 weeks healing from the CoVid infection. clinics do not like to reschedule so expect some loss of your monies. Always better to use private practice boarded Plastic Surgeons.

Patients who are Covid positive should not only not undergo elective surgical procedures for their own sake but should also isolate themselves to protect others.

If you have Covid then you need to reschedule your procedure.

Not doing so would be foolish and selfish.
