Hello, I had Airsculpt for my full abdomen a year ago. But it left me with some dimples/depressioand /bumps /fat pockets there. I thought my surgeon could redo the lipo for that area, but he suggested to separate the skin from the muscles only for those 2 big dimples on my lower abdomen and do a fat transfer from my bra row to fill it in. another option is to inject Sculptra fillers to those areas. Either way I just don’t want to add more bumps to my abdomen. Any subjections?
Answer: Uneven and lumpy abdomen after liposuction Dear Sunflowerforyou, I would have to examine you but it appears that this is a contour irregularity after liposuction. This happens often when areas the undergo liposuction are not feathered appropriately. The good news is that it can be fixed and I have done so with good results before. While there is always a chance for contour irregularities with liposuction, someone who takes their time and uses the appropriate sized cannulas should give you a superb result.I have all my patients wear compression garments and I use multiple sized cannulas to feather out the result. Answer: Correcting poorly done Liposuction Liposuction is more or less a permanent and irreversible procedure. When the procedure is not performed correctly leaving uneven contour irregularities patients are unlikely to obtain a normal appearance regardless of attempts of correcting this. Treatment corrections typically include revision Liposuction, fat grafting or converting the procedure to a skin tightening operation like a full tummy tuck. None of these are great options in your case. Grafting fat in the most over treated areas can give slight improvements but to get results that really make a difference often requires multiple rounds of grafting fat. In order for grafted fat to survive there has to be an abundance of host tissue to support the graft. The areas that are most overtreated are also the most devoid of host tissue resulting in the highest graft failure. The best option is to graft conservatively recognizing that it may take multiple procedures to see significant improvement. Even after multiple fat grafting sessions final results will still only give a partial improvement. Considering that revision work is many times more difficult and complex than primary body contouring choosing the most talented and experienced surgeon goes without speaking. Be careful of providers who think this is easy to correct or can be corrected using some energy device like VASER. Good luck, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: How to fix a checker board abdomen The definitive technique to fix a checkerboard abomen is to tighten your abdominal skin with a modified abdominal skin resection and revision liposuction with VASER assistance to achieve a smooth abdomen with natural highlights. The definitive correction for liposuction deformities requires the advanced technology of ultrasound assisted VASER liposuction. As an official trainer of VASER liposuction, I encounter suboptimal liposuction outcome referrals weekly. VASER liposuction has been the only modality that has consistently corrected liposuction caused deformities. VASER liposuction ensures a smooth contour regardless of severity of contour irregularities by virtue of being able to remove any and all remaining fat comprehensively and uniformly. Finally, when skin redundancy irregularities are observed, Renuvion technology can be simultaneously applied to tighten your skin to optimize your overall contour outcome. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a VASER specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
