HI, I am 5'1" and weigh 130LBS. My bra size is 34a (SM). I purchased the Purlz implant sizers to have and idea of cc's I would like before I went to my consultation. My favorite is the 325cc's. Is this the size I should ask my PS? or do Purlz sizers run smaller than those used by PS? If so, would you know how much? Or maybe suggest what size I should ask my PS? I'm hoping to achieve a "C" cup. Thank you so much for providing me with information.
Answer: External sizers in breast augmentation
I find external sizers to be misleading and not helpful and do not use them. The way to understand it is that if you took an external sizer and used it as an implant behind the breast, it would not have the same result or effect. Even putting the same implant above or below the pectoralis muscle results in a different perception of size. It is also not consistent to take a certain external size and convert it to an internal size for the same effect. Implants have to be fit and positioned somewhat like a foot in a shoe with the main choice being the forward projection that roughly increases the perceived breast cup size from one to two cup sizes for the range of profiles that fit the width. Judging the present apparent size of your breast and figuring up one to two cup sizes is about the best that can be done.
