I got Ptosis correction and upper blepharoplasty since my left eye was drooping. 2 weeks after, my eyes were great! Then 6 weeks after, they dropped. Will a revision possibly correct the issue? My surgeon claims it's only a 1mm difference between the 2 eyes and it's an easy fix... and opening them more will look unnatural. I miss where they were 2 weeks post op!

Answer: Revision blepharoplasty Thank you for your question. Yes, a revision surgery could lift your eyelids back to what they were at two weeks. There is always going to be a degree of stretch back, but to me it looks like your lid position is almost the same as pre op, and more tightening would be okay pending there aren't underlying medical causes that aren't addressed, such as myasthenia gravis. Best, Dr. P

Answer: You most definitely need your eyes more open. However, the reality is that your eyelids are not done healing. You and your surgeon need to be patient before pronouncing that what you have is the final result. Eyelids are far from healed at week 6. They need months not weeks. I personal seldom consider a request for revising an eyelid before the eyelid has healed for 6 months. I have colleagues who wait even longer and advocate 12 months. I think that is excessive generally. However there is an occasional eyelid that needs more time than 6 months before making a final assessment. However, if your result looks very much like you 6 week result, then yes, you will need and benefit from a surgical revision.
