1. Are all types of centrifuge machines working the same or the types differently affect the quality of the plasma? 2. How long is centrifuging blood for plasma needed? 3. Having PRP treatment twice a month for both hair lose and face tight will have side effects? 4. How much calcium chloride should be added for 10 cc of PRP. Thanks for your reply! Best regards
Answer: PRP and centrifuge info? Englewood Cliffs New Jersey 1.The centrifuge must match the tubes that are used to produce the PRP. 2.The time of centrifugation varies based upon the matched tube that is used.3. PRP twice a month may not have any additional benefit or negative effects. This time frame has not been studied. 4. I do not use calcium chloride or thrombin in my protocol as activated PRP has shown no benefit over non-activated PRP and in fact maybe less effective. Most importantly, find yourself a PRP expert. Ask to see photos.

Answer: PRP centrifuge advice 1. Are all types of centrifuge machines working the same or the types differently affect the quality of the plasma? There are centrifuges modified to concentrate PRP and there are those that are made specifically to concentrate PRP . Some modified centrifuges concentrate the PRP only 1-2 x the normal concentration. Others concentrate the PRP 4-6x normal concentration. Some machines use the gel system, others don’t2. How long is centrifuging blood for plasma needed? It depends on the machine average is 10 minutes in some machines , others 15 to 18 min3. Having PRP treatment twice a month for both hair lose and face tight will have side effects? It should not 4. How much calcium chloride should be added for 10 cc of PRP. Thanks for your reply! Best regards10/ 200.5 cc

Answer: PRP and centrifuge advice Thanks for your question. There are many different PRP systems that are available and many give different cell counts and also vary in what types of cells they filter and what they don’t. Some leave some red blood cells and white cells where others may take them all out. This is one reason it is difficult to generalize results from different studies. Generally speaking if looking at the literature most agree the most reliable process is a double spin method. As discussed above it depends on the system you are utilizing the amount of time to spin the PRP as there are some out there that claim only 5 minutes but many of the double spin machines or methods require about 15-20 minutes. As far as the benefit of having an injection twice a month being harmful, I don’t see how this would be harmful but there is no literature to support this frequent of treatment from an injection standpoint for the hair. I do not activate my PRP so I cannot answer on how much one would add but this can be found in the literature if desired. There are a few studies that compare activated vs non-activated with a little variation in results but questionable whether it truly needs activated or if activation takes place with the injection. Good luck.

Answer: PRP 1&2. there are different types of centrifuges and the time used to centrifuge also vary depending on the machine. The verdict on the efficacy on one vs another is very controversial. The importance is the number of platelets and more importantly the quality of your platelets. 3.We recommend 1Xmonth for 3 months then reassess in 3- 6 months 4. We do not add Calcium Chloride. The body will activate its own Calcium to start the coagulation cascade. It is very irritating to the skin and puts pressure ont eh injector to inject quickly before the blood coagulates. It is NOT necessary.
