I’m 48F. Had three sessions of PRP injected into temples, under eyes, nasolabial folds and marionette lines between September and February. Noticeable results everywhere except under eyes. Is it possible I will need several more injections under eyes to see results? It has been four months since the first injection, three months since the second and just a week since the third. Results very noticeable for marionette lines, seemingly no results for eyes yet.
Answer: You can get PRP anytime between 4-6 weeks In our practice we refer to PRP as ""liquid gold"" because it provides healing and rejuvenation and is a natural way to improve the appearance of your skin. Platelet-rich plasma is a high concentrate of protein derived from the blood; blood is drawn from the patient and placed in a tube that, once spun in a centrifuge, separates natural growth factors and stem cells from red blood cells. In addition to helping you maintain a fresh, youthful appearance, PRP can address localized conditions such as acne, wrinkles, cellulite, scars, and sun damage, and it's great when used in conjunction with lasers, radiofrequency devices, and microneedling treatments. When combined with lasers and radiofrequency treatments, it can also address scars, pores, and pigmentation. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: PRP under eyes Hi, thank you for your question! I recommend to patients to repeat PRP to the under eye every 4-6 weeks. PRP for the under eyes can take up to five treatments for best results. PRF could also be a better alternative for you if you are not seeing great results from PRP. Platelet Rich Fibrin, also known as “PRF”, is an evolution of PRP that uses a similar solution but with more stem cells, white blood cells and fibrin from your blood. These three components add to the healing potential of blood plasma to deliver even more healing potential. PRF is a type of platelet concentrate that has gained popularity in various medical fields. It is prepared by processing the patient's blood to concentrate platelets, growth factors, and other bioactive proteins. PRF is a more advanced, fine-tuned version of PRP. Both are great treatments, but you may be recommended one over the other depending on your area of treatment and other considerations. I would recommend following up with your certified injector.

Answer: PRP Sometimes it may require more than three sessions of PRP for optimal results. Without seeing a photo, I would suggest you have a conversation with your provider about your progress and expectations. Best of luck!

Answer: Interesting results, may need more time, PRP, or alternative treatment Hello, that's great to that you are seeing such positive results from PRP in the areas you mentioned: temples, nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Typically, these areas require more volume for rejuvenation, and PRP is not as good at replacing volume as dermal filler (hyaluronic acid). Sometimes, PRP will be mixed with dermal filler for improved volumization. On the other hand, PRP seems to work better for the under eye area, especially when there is not a lot of volume deficit. PRP is especially good at helping with skin texture, fine lines, crepey skin, elasticity, etc. It does take time to see improvements with PRP under the eyes, and younger patients tend to respond faster. Do you know how much PRP was injected on each side, the depth of injection and the concentration of the PRP? These would be important considerations. I recommend discussing your situation with your PRP specialist. In the undereye area, are you targeting volume loss, dark circles, skin texture, or some combination of these factors? There is no harm in injecting PRP every 4-6 weeks, or perhaps even closer together. Although I would not inject more frequently than every 2 weeks. Best wishes, Patrick Yam MD
