I have accessory breast tissue I need to have removed. Lymph node risk?

Question

I was curious is there any risk to the lymph nodes when removing this tissue/fat ? I am 10 lbs over weight. The tissue is about the size of an A cup breast it bulges out about 3 inches past my axillary fold aka my armpit.

I have performed removal of axillary breasts or various size in the past.  The lymph nodes are pretty deep and thee are many of them.  They probably won’t be a problem.

Dear PPP:Removing accessory breast tissue is a very satisfying procedure for patients.  There should be little risk to any lymph nodes.  Certainly, I have not seen that problem in my practice.Best of LuckDr. Romanelli

While there probably won't be any lymph node interference during surgery, it is best to schedule a consultation with your plastic surgeon to have an in-person examination and address your concerns.

should easily be removed without impacting your axillary nodes... as you are not having a node dissection.  All your surgeon should be attempting to do is to make the contours better... not removal every bit of accessory tissue present, unless you want the tissue all gone.
