Can I get a BBL if I've had a liver transplant and take Prograf?

I’ve been researching a lot about bbl , doctors , experience, techniques, and healing process. I discussed a fat transfer( to my breast instead of implants) or to the buttock with my post transplant team and agreed That I can opt for cosmetic surgery with their clearance and they will work with the surgeon in regards to medication adjustment if necessary post op/pre op . I take 3.5 mg Prograf 2 x daily.

Clearance from your transplant doctor, blood work, and additional tests will be required before you can receive approval for the BBL.  One of the risks involves the immune suppressant meds (Prograf) which could lower your body's ability to right infection after the BBL.

You have been through a lot.!No question.  A liver transplant is a big deal. Congratulations on that one.  If your transplant doctors are giving you a clearance then I don't think it'll be that difficult to find a plastic surgeon who can help you. You will potentially be at higher risk for certain complications but most likely your medical history will not interfere with an elective outpatient cosmetic procedure.  There are two variables that determine the outcome of these procedures. The first is how good of a candidate the patient is in the second is the skill of the surgeon.  My practice is devoted exclusively to liposuction and fat transfer procedures. We perform close to 400 of these per year.  Today I did 12 hours of liposuction( no fat transfer on today's cases) There are other providers who also do great work with liposuction and fat transfer.  My results from fat transfer to the breast have consistently improved over the years. We're now seeing close to 100% breast volume increases. I Brazilians are the same. It's a little easier to get high volumes of fat to survive in the barracks but a BBL has its own set of issues.  We do these procedures with patients awake using local anesthesia like at the dentist.  There are numerous advantages to avoiding General Anastasia. The main ones are much better results, improve safety, less bruising, faster recovery  I suggest you consult with a few local board-certified plastic surgeons in your area who show expertise with this procedure.  All the very best, Mats Hagstrom MD
