Cutting veins will cause no problem in healing. Your tissues get its blood supply from arteries bringing good oxygen to the tissues. Thank you for your questions. This is a very good question. The veins you see through the nipple are superficial veins that carry blood away from the nipple and back to the heart. These can and often are affected by incisions around the areola when moving the nipple. However, the most important vessels are the deep arteries and veins coming through the breast tissue underneath the nipple and these are the ones preserved to allow blood flow into and out of the nipple after surgery during healing. This is why board certified plastic surgeons go through years of training to gain expertise in how to properly do these procedure to maintain blood flow and perform these operations safely. It's a great question, but it's important to know that cutting through the superficial veins that you see under your breast skin will not affect the blood supply to your nipple. There deeper arteries and veins that will continue to give your nipple the blood flow that it requires to remain healthy. Of course careful technique on your surgeon's part is key.
