Your temporary All-On-4 restoration is typically meant to last 6-8 months, but I have seen them last for up to 3 years prior to the final restoration. Those are very rare circumstances and usually involves some type of medical issue that arose after the initial surgery (such as a body cancer) and caused a delay in the patient getting their permanent teeth. The longevity of the temporary teeth depends on many factors such as your diet, whether or not you are a grinder, the type of opposing teeth, the adjustment of your bite, whether or not you are wearing your night guard, maintenance of the temporary teeth (ie. are the screws being occasionally re-torqued and occlusion verified), etc. If you are having to wait a long time before getting your final set of teeth, I would personally stick to a softer diet, wear my night guard at bedtime, and keep up with my oral hygiene routine.
If what you had made was a conversion from a denture to a fixed bridge this can last 1-3 months. If you had a cad-cam milled temporary this can last 6-8 months.
I would not advise using the temporary prosthesis for longer than 6-8 months. It is important to get the permanent set so that you can have a strong and clean prosthesis over the implants. The temporary one works well during the healing phase. This is useful because if there are any issues around the implants, they can still be corrected before getting the permanent teeth made.
Hi:The longevity of your temporary all on 4 is mainly dependent on your diet. It's best to avoid hard and crunchy food. I also recommend cleanings every 3-4 months.Best,Dr. Maddahi
Your temporary denture should be good for about 6-8 months. Of course you want to use common sense and stick to a more bland diet, nothing that would make your dentures chip or fracture. You do not want to eat or do anything that would compromise the denture or implants while you heal.At my clinic sometimes we send our All on 4 patients home with a PMMA temporary bridge designed and milled with CAD/CAM technology. This way our patients have a second bridge in the case the original one breaks or fractures during the osseo integration period.
Hi and thank you for your question. There are many ways to pick the best shade for your all on four teeth. You can match the shade with your own teeth with a shade guide or there are devices that determine the actual color of your natural. In all picking an extremely white shade will...
If you had a temporary All-on-4 bridge 10 weeks ago, your gum has likely changed shape and the bridge may also not have been designed as a final bridge would be. Hopefully changes in the final design can address your concerns. Usually you would not be having a dull ache at this stage, so you...
Bone loss is progressive, so be sure to have a CT scan taken to make sure your bone structure is enough to have implants placed.
