I have only written one or two reviews in my life (one was a negative experience with a kayaking company in South Africa). I am doing this review because I have been totally blown away with an experience at Cancun Dental Specialists just last week. It may sound dumb, but I want as many people to hear about this as possible. I start with an experience three years ago. I went to a dentist in Salt Lake City that specializes in All-on-Four fixed dentures. My teeth were a mess and I wanted to get a professional consultation. The oral surgeon did all the xray stuff and then sat me down for his expert opinion. Great news, he could help me and recommended a fixed denture, All-on-Four procedure. The cost: $45,000! Needless to say, I quickly lost any interest.Somehow I had heard of dental tourism. My first thought was, "Dental work in Mexico? Really?" I probed deeper into the subject. The more I researched the topic the more I found satisfied patients, excellent reviews and what appeared to be professional clinics in Mexico. Moreover, a spokesperson for the American Dental Association said on NPR that there are many fine dentists in Mexico, but, like anything else, you have to do your homework to get to the right people.I looked at clinics in Tijuana, Algodones, Costa Rica and Cancun. I became very interested in Cancun Dental Specialists for several reasons:The clinic owner did her advanced dental studies in restorative dentistry at the University of Michigan (one of the top three dental schools in the U.S.)I spoke or electronically communicated to several people who had gone there and questioned them about their experience - everyone had good things to say-The dentists have excellent credentials with continuing education in the USA and lots of experience under their belt-They had state of the art equipment, their own lab that worked 24/7-They are the largest user in all Mexico of Nobel Biocare implant hardware-They all speak good English-Dental coordinators pull it all together, hassle-free-English-speaking drivers to transport you to and from appointments and the airport-The pricing was jaw-dropping low (pun intended)They seemed to have all the right ingredients for me to pull the trigger and let them do my dental work. I called and spoke with a dental coordinator and we set an appointment. And, I had never been to Cancun and had heard nothing but great things about the beaches and the water!Important: After my 3D scan/xray, I met with Dr. Lugo, the clinic's oral surgeon. He told me I was NOT a candidate for an All-on-Four procedure. I had excellent roots and strong bone structure. Quite the opposite of the U.S. "professional" three years ago.Instead, they recommended a Full Mouth Restoration. This would mean more work and less money for them than an All-on-Four.I call my trip to Cancun, "The Agony and the Ecstasy." I hate being in any dental chair - USA or Cancun! It is agony. However, when I saw the results for their work in just one week, I was completely overwhelmed. It was pure ecstasy! And the price? 25% of what I would have paid in the United States. Check out the "Before and After" shots.Cancun Dental Specialists is the real deal. I am spreading the word to all my family and friends. Cancun is safe, the work is professional, and, the price tag is lower than whale dung at the bottom of the ocean!(Note: You might see this on other review platforms because I am determined to get the news out to the many people in the United States and Canada that desperately need serious dental work, but cannot afford the astronomical price tag.)
I have been to Ocean dental a few times. I have had crowns, root canals and an implant. The staff are wonderful and go above and beyond. Their level of service is exceptional. I have recommended friends and family. I am Canadian and have flown to cancun from British Columbia solely for dental work. Your dental coordinator will help you with accommodation, transportation and any other needs you may have. Thank you again
This office works like a well oiled machine. Planning is done by agents to help you get to your destination, you are picked up at the airport and delivered to your hotel and if you have a short time span, you are seen by the office as soon as you arrive. Expert help is given to patients with a quick turnaround. They even have a customer service representative to deal with any problems sitting in the lobby. I had an abscessed tooth, two crowns a cleaning and a mouth guard made for the reasonable price of $1500.
from start to finish, everything was taken care of. I truly had a great experience with Dr. Irma. I was amazed by the Communication with their staff from start to finish. I had 16 veneers replaced & I am very happy with them. Thank You to Dr. Irma & her great staff for making this an easy experience. I highly recommend Ocean Dental Cancun
When I started looking for information on dental tourism, through a second-hand recommendation, I consulted with the dental specialists in Cancun. I contacted his office via email and they contacted me again very soon after. I explained my case and thought it was a simple extraction and put crowns, but they explained that I needed dental implants to improve my bite. I decided to make my reservations and they contacted me and organized my transportation from the airport to their office and then to the place where I was staying. The contact with the dentists is relaxing and fluid, the staff is friendly and extremely professional. In my experience in Cancun Dental specialists, I was pleased with his dental work and now eat my food with surely. I highly recommend the dental specialists of Cancun.
The best dental experience and level of care I have ever received. The dentists and staff are very friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Located in the Hotel zone of Cancun with a lot to see and do in between appointments.
Both my wife and I had dental work done at Dr. Gavaldon's office in Cancun. I had a tooth pulled in preparation for an implant by an oral surgeon while my wife had her teeth checked and the potential for future dental work discussed with her. Prices were VERY reasonable when compared with US rates and the service was probably better than I've received at numerous US dentists offices. Highly recommended.
I had work done September 2018. In two visits CDS did a through evaluation and completed all the work to correct my bite and repair 13 teeth (caps and veneers). Even though I was here on vacation I planned to need a day or two for recovery from so much work. However the biggest problem through the whole process was keeping my mouth open and not falling asleep. I never felt any pain during or even after my work was completed. I ate steak that night. I also enjoyed that the cost was a third of what it would cost in USA. The cosmetic part was awesome and the color perfect. All the staff were more than willing to help and are very friendly. Thanks CDS for a great experience.
My experience with CDS was great. I am a retired police officer from NY and I needed a full mouth reconstruction. Doctors (Cindell and Selena) were great. Equipment very modern. Very clean facilities.
Dr. G was amazing! Her clinic staff was so welcoming and definitely made me feel more comfortable considering this is my first medical vacation. I paid 1/6 of what i was quoted in New York City. Also i have never seen a more technologically up-to-date facility anywhere in the tri-state area. I am so happy with the end result of my full mouth, all ceramic zirconium, crowning. My teeth a perfect and white. I am still tearing up when i look in the mirror, this is very emotional for me in a positive way! THANK YOU DR. G!! =)
Go in for another consultation. New Periapical X-rays and a 3D CBCT scan might be needed. Your dentist will have to check you clinically, o make sure there is no infection, decay, or ill-fitted veneers. There is a possibility that the pain is due to either trauma or clenching or grinding pressure as well it's important to check the bite and many other factors. If you can share more information with us I can give you a better answer
Your temporary denture should be good for about 6-8 months. Of course you want to use common sense and stick to a more bland diet, nothing that would make your dentures chip or fracture. You do not want to eat or do anything that would compromise the denture or implants while you heal. At my clinic sometimes we send our All on 4 patients home with a PMMA temporary bridge designed and milled with CAD/CAM technology. This way our patients have a second bridge in the case the original one breaks or fractures during the osseo integration period.
If its verified that the actual implant is mobile and not just one of the multi-unit connectors, then ideally replacing the implant would be a good choice. However, if there is no infection and the oral surgeon feels that the implant can be stabilized by performing, perhaps, a debridement followed by bone grafting, this may be something to consider. Of course the implant will be left dormant, or out of occlusion, during osseo integration to insure that the implant is not affected by your biting forces while it heals. You had mentioned that 1 of 5 implants are loose. If the implant has to be removed, its good to know that Fixed hybrid restorations (Used with the All on 4 treatment) can work with as little as 4 implants. So while a new implant heals you should still be able to wear your fixed hybrid denture. Given that this does not affect the load distribution on the denture or cause unnecessary force on the other implants.
Hello Xmas Belle, From reading your post I gather that you have been edentulous for at least a year. The total costs for the All on 4 procedure will not be as much as it would be if we would have to factor in the costs of extractions. To determine your final costs, you should have a 3D CBCT scan taken so that the surgeon evaluating your case can let you know if there is any need of treatments such as sinus lifting, ridge augmentation etc.If your bone levels and bone density are good, the cost of All on 4 surgical phase will run you around $4,500 USD per arch here in Cancun. After a 4-6 month osseo integration period you will come back to finish the final restoration. We will place a non removable fixed hybrid denture which has a cost of $5,400 USD.Prices may vary depending on where you choose to have your treatment, but you can expect a time frame of about 6 months or so to finish your treatment completely .
Do you think they are high? Do you feel them touching first? Did these teeth get root canals? Why did they need crowns in the first place? Do you feel sensitivity to hot and cold? Does the pain linger? Please provide info so I can give you an opinion on your case
