My left inferior turbinate hasn’t changed size once since surgery. I know longer have a nasal cycle on the left side. Why?

I had a partial turbinectomy with cauterization. My right turbinate still swells and my left one hasn’t changed size once. Leaving my left side always wide open. Does this sound like the turbinate has lost its function or it’s full of scar tissue inside not allowing it to move? Can adhesions on the lateral wall attached to my turbinate prevent it from swelling? I can’t afford a ENT visit right now and would really appreciate your insight.
