I'm getting my mole removed in two days and I have no idea what procedure my docotor will use an im curious. I am also concerned with the results. I'm 16 years old and I was born with it. This mole is not cancerous. Will the scar be very noticeable or not? And if so, what type of scar/length will it be?

Answer: Procedure to remove mole Moles are usually removed by either shave excision or traditional excision depending on their size, shape, and location. A shave excision is done by numbing the area and simply shaving off the mole with an instrument so it just leaves a small, flat, pink mark behind. A traditional excision is done by numbing the area, completely excising the area by cutting around it (like a small football shape), and then closing it with stitches. Without knowing more about your case I don't know what your physician will do. You can always call and ask. Make sure to follow good post-care to minimize the scarring as much as possible.
