I just had a vase high def surgery done for my abs (high def) hips, a bit chest and axilla region. The doctor i have chosen performs this surgery very often and was trained by dr Hoyos. Is it common, that new fake muscles using remaining fat cells were created to achieve the high def look? i was expecting, that the fat over and around the original muscles gets removed as much as possible?
Answer: Does Vaser make the real muscles more visible, or does the surgeon create fake muscles over the real ones? Thank you for your question. Photos would've been helpful. VASER Hi Def Lipo (VHD) is a highly specialized technique invented by Dr. Alfredo Hoyos of Bogota, Colombia. I trained with him extensively (visited his clinic 3 times and operated together). The VASER is used to emulsify fat both in the deep and superficial fat compartments. This is not done with any other technique, most surgeons remove fat from the deep fat layer only. This is what most plastic surgeons do, this is what they were taught to avoid leaving grooving. Thus, there's a difference between fat reduction surgery and VHD which is sculpting. This sculpts out your muscles. If your surgeon sculpts "fake" lines, this will show as unnatural and even a lay person can tell that something is not right. Leaving too much fat over the muscles is suboptimal. One cannot do Hi Def Lipo on abdomen and hips and "a bit on the chest and axilla". This will look fake! This is an all or non operation. The sculpting of the abdomen, obliques, waist, hips, back, lower back paraspinous muscle group, chest, axillae, arms need to be done together to look harmonious and not fake. How does a sculpted six pack, look with a fatty chest and arms? Fake! These are not easy techniques, lots of nuances, and truly cannot be made your own with a one time three day training. The final result is 4-6 months. There's more swelling with this technique than traditional fat reduction liposuction, and in the first month, your definition is not that visible. Follow up with your surgeon. Good luck with healing.

Answer: Vaser Liposculpture I believe anyone trained under Dr. Alfredo Hoyos must know his/her stuff. He is simply the best. I have read and use his text book many times. It is true the Vaser provider can shape around existing muscles making them more defined, but can also use fat to enhance a particular look. Vaser is a tool that can give the right provider many beautiful options to make a sculpted body look great. Good luck. Hope this is helpful. JB

Answer: DEFINING YOUR SIX-PACKS ABS WITH HI-DEF VASER LIPOSUCTION. Hello FS78, It’s a pleasure to answer your questions! It is common to do both, removing fat and using remaining fat cells to achieve well-defined or ripped six-pack abs. One of the extensive benefits that High Definition VASER liposuction offers is that this procedure can be used on both, athletic patients who work out at the gym, as well as overweight patients who want more definition and muscular look. I had the good fortune of traveling to Bogotá, Colombia in 2003, and received training by Doctor Alfredo Hoyos in the latest VASER Hi-Def Liposculture methods. Since then, I have executed over a hundred procedures in the State of Texas. Dr. Hoyos’ revolutionary body contouring technique works by selectively removing deposits of fat surrounding specific muscle groups to enhance the visibility of the natural muscle contours underneath. Traditional liposuction procedures did not allow surgeons to remove and properly contour the superficial fat layers. However, with the latest innovations of Hi-Def VASER Lipo, such as the ultrasonic emulsification of fat and rotating cannula, an experienced aesthetic surgeon can literally rip your abdomen and narrow your waist line like never before. Hope this is helpful! Dr. De La Cruz.

Answer: Vaser Hi Def 6-Pack Thanks for your question. I always tell my "Hi Def" patients that they will not see a 6 pack unless there is already one hiding under there. The answer to your question is, "yes." In other words, I have seen cases where the doctor did make "fake" muscles, just by leaving a lot of extra fat and creating grooves to represent the tendinous insertions (6-pack). To me those always look pretty fake, especially if there is still plenty of subcutaneous abdominal fat left behind. Surgeons who are well-trained (which yours should be, if trained with Dr. Hoyos) should really only perform those procedures on people who are already in pretty good shape and not really overweight. The patient needs to have good abdominal muscles and workout regularly. Ideally, the surgeon will be able to feel your abs and know where the natural tendinous insertions are and be able to enhance those with differential fat removal. Once all healing has occurred, the result should look very natural and will augment your natural musculature. This usually takes 4-6 months and is dependant upon adequate skin tightening. You do not state in your question, how far out from surgery you are, but my guess is that you are still seeing quite a bit of swelling right now. Make sure to watch your weight and resume exercising as soon as you are healed and comfortable to do it. You are also correct in assuming that the fat overlying the muscles is removed, but it is not as aggressively removed as the fat in the "grooves" between the muscle bellies. I hope that was helpful. If you have further questions, please post before and after photos - we can give better answers with more information.

Answer: Vaser liposuction for abdominal etching The idea is to remove the fat off of the muscles and gulleys around the muscles as best as possible to make your real muscles show and not to try to create fake looking muscles.
