Do I need to take nipple piercings out for Vaser Lipo?

Hi all. I’m having Vaser Lipo tomorrow on my upper abdomen, lower abdomen and my bra roll. Will I need to take out my nipple bars? Or can I get away with wearing plastic retainer ones? Thanks

I do not ask my patients to remove their piercings unless the piercings are in the area that is being treated. So in your case you would not have to remove the piercings.

Thanks for your question.  Vaser liposuction uses ultrasonic mechanical energy to loosen the fat prior to aspiration.  This does not involve passage of an electric current through your body, so jewelry (nipple piercings included) are OK to wear.  I do ask my patients to remove belly-button piercings if we are treating the abdomen, however, as this could pose an infection risk since most of us like to place a small incision right there.  Good luck with your liposuction!
