Hi, I have a lot of red acne scars and a lot of texture/atrophic scars as well as hyperpigmentation all over my face and i scheduled an appointment for the infini skin treatment in a week. I'm supposed to have three treatments and it'll be my first one. The only issue is that I have a wedding exactly 7 days after the treatment and cannot afford to have my skin looking crazy by then. Also I'm very skeptical as I've seen tons of mixed reviews of the treatment and don't want my skin looking worse.
Answer: Infini recovery and what does it treat. Infini will treat the texture and acne scars. However, it will not treat hyperpigmentation which needs topicals, peels, or lasers. I would not do the treatment if you need to look great at 7 days because there will probably be some/minimal swelling, redness at that time. I would do the procedure when you have time to heal properly. Infini will improve the scarring much more aggressively than microneedling. PRP can assist in healing faster but it beneficial effects are not fully known. Keep in mind that you need to get PRP that is 6x, 6 times the normal concentration of the blood platelets to give the maximum benefit. Your scarring is not extreme and you might want to try less aggressive treatments first. The redness present will also not be treated with the Infini and might need laser or topical for treatment.

Answer: Infini and Healing In most patients, the redness and swelling is gone within a few days. Healing times will depend on the settings and who performs the procedure. I would definitely wait to do this after the wedding. All patients are different and healing times will vary.

Answer: Infini recovery I, too, read people's stories on realself and have determined that there are a lot of different people performing the treatment with a wide variation in technique and treatment approach. My patients recover back to completely normal within 3-5 days most of the time, but I'd say about 10% take longer than that. This timing is the result of 1. careful technique 2. use of a chiller during treatment, 3. use of Biopelle growth factor serum immediately post treatment and for 4 days subsequently 4. A recommended skin care regimen (and makeup!) for a week following treatment. I am constantly refining my technique and post procedure care. I would make sure you are going to someone who takes this careful approach. That said-- I would not advise my patients to undergo Infini with an important event in 7 days. There are no guarantees that you will be completely normal by then. Highly likely-- no not guaranteed. I myself see patients the next day after I receive Infini-- and I wear some Jane Iredale powder and people do not notice. I'm having one Thursday and hosting a big party two days later! Infini is a fantastic treatment and you'll love the results. But you might want to put this one off until after the wedding.

Answer: INFINI PRP for faster recovery. Personally I would add PRP as it will increase the heal time. Treatment parameters will differ with doctors. If you are worried about heal time, I would do a deep and medium setting, given your skin type. PRP will speed up recovery. At the one week mark, depending on the settings you may still have some slight swelling. Acne scar revision is a specialised field. For the best results, one should target the acne scar type with ideal treatments. The web reference below will take you to a resource. I embedded all the videos in one page to help. For example deep ice pick scars, and narrow box car scars can be treated with TCA CROSS peels, mixed scars, rolling, and atrophic scars treated with fractional devices such as Fraxel, fractional lasers, PRP and INFINI radiofrequency. Atrophic scars (depressions) can be treated with either fat grafts, or with HA dermal fillers. Tethered and anchored scars are best treated with surgery. The majority of patients will have a collection of different scar types, and hence a tailored treatment METHOD will be best. Careful examination, especially under angled lighting with scar mapping will give you an understanding of what are the best options for your scars. All the best, Dr Davin Lim. Acne scar dermatologist specialist. Brisbane, Australia.
